Odessa, an Israeli nationwide organization, and the Israeli Veterans Union have sent a letter of thanks to the Cherney Fund. The Fund's recent projects made it possible for many WWII veterans to receive spa treatments and for their clubs to be properly equipped.

Also the Fund has helped sponsor the publication of a number of books commemorating the Jewish heroes of the World War Two, including a book by a retired Corporal F.Sverdlov, as well as L.Berstein's Sixty Years After: Odessa's Heroic Defenders. In WWII, Mr. Berstein had commanded a platoon of Ukrainian partisans and has now written about many Jewish fighters whose stories had never been told.
