In the summer of 2003, Mikhail Cherney Foundation
sponsored a project generated by Israeli Resource News Agency.
Ten Jewish mothers who had lost their children to terrorist
acts traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet American media and
politicians.
At the press conference at the National Press
Club, the mothers told the reporters and members of the House
the truth often played down by the Western media: yes, sometimes
Palestinian children die, too, but the responsibility for
these deaths lies with Palestinian terrorists and Palestinian
Authority. They cynically hide behind children as they launch
their attacks, and they deliberately set up bomb labs in crowded
residential areas - they know that IDF goes out of its way
to minimize civilian victims.
However, with Jewish children it's a different
story: the masterminds of terrorism just as deliberately target
civilian population as they send suicide bombers into supermarkets
and buses filled with families.
The audience at the National Press Club was
also shown Empty Rooms, a documentary film about the Dolphinarium
bombing - another reminder that Palestinian terrorists violate
all human moral standards by targeting Jewish children. The
film, directed by well-known Dutch director Willy Lindwer
and commissioned by the Mikhail Cherney Foundation, narrates
the story of the June 1, 2001 bombing, where 20 teenagers
were killed and over 100 wounded.
