I would like to congratulate the Cherney Foundation for their courageous efforts to produce Dolphinarium: Terror Targets The Young, which details the terrorist bombing of the Dolphinarium Discotheque in Tel Aviv, where 20 young people were massacred. The project to chronicle this horrible event from the perspective of survivors and the families of the innocent victims is gravely important.

People must know the truth — that the responsibility of the violence in Israel lies clearly in the hands of Yasir Arafat and the Palestinian Authority. It is Israel that is the victim, and the PA that has forgone peace in favor of violence. There is no moral equivalence between blowing up children at a night club and defending one's citizens. The moral authority in Israel's fight against terror belongs to Israel.

I have traveled to Israel three times as Governor of the State of New York, most recently in December of 2001 after another horrible bombing. My deepest sympathies go out to the families of every Israeli that has been ruthlessly murdered. On behalf of the State of New York, please know that our hearts and support will always belong to the State of Israel.
