Israel Embassy in Moscow
June 26, 2002
To Michael Cherney Foundation

Gentlemen:
I would like to express gratitude to the Cherney Foundation for its important humanist project that has done so much for the victims of the terrorist act at the Dolphinarium on June 1, 2001. Your financial and moral support has made and will continue to be making an enormous contribution in the rehabilitation of the victims and their families. I would also like to remark on the heartbreaking presentation that took place in Moscow on June 6, 2002 and was attended by family members and politicians and media from both Russia and Israel.

I wish to emphasize that this project, as well as the book with the oral history of the victims, and the film that is currently being made, are all tangible contributions in the difficult public relations campaign we are currently conducting.

At the Moscow presentation, we had a discussion with your representatives on the need to bolster the idea of uncompromising war on Palestinian terror and terror in general, and I was encouraged by your side's firm determination and willingness to render assistance in this issue.

I hope that, following the second edition of the Dolphinarium book in Russian, you will be able to provide us with 500 copies of the book, so that we could help you circulate it among different groups on the territory of Russia.

Nathan Meron,
Ambassador of Israel,
Moscow
