The Michael Cherney Fund has extended financial support to Alfa Sport Tzfat association. AST is only three years old, but it has left its imprint on the athletic activities both locally and nationally. The association unites sections for boxing, chess, soccer, target shooting, and even ballroom dancing (potentially an Olympic sport). Over fifty chess players have been competing last year, while over 70 boys and girls enrolled in the tennis clinic led by Anatoly Polsky.
AST boxing team, coached by Vladimir Oyslender, successfully debuted last year at the world junior championship in Hungary. Last year the association started a soccer team, Alfa Tzfat, which will serve as a base for a junior team and a children’s soccer club.
In Carmel, The Cherney Fund has also supported a local boxing club and the Carmel 21 public association.
