The Jewish Question: Lenin, Stalin and Solzhenitsyn
No to Extremism: Anti-fascist Llibrary
The Michael Cherney Foundation began publishing a series
of books that will combat anti-Semitism and extremism in Russia.
The books will come out at the Olymp Publishing House in Moscow. The series will be inaugurated by From Hell to Paradise and Back: The Jewish Question: Lenin, Stalin and Solzhenitsyn by Arkady Vaksberg, a prominent writer, historian, journalist, and lawyer.
What is The Jewish Question? the book asks. Why was it needed in Russia? What role played the Russian Jews in revolutionary and anti-revolutionary movements, in the growth and stabilization of the Soviet State, in the state's punitive policies under Lenin, Stalin, and their successors, and in Soviet and Russian culture?
These are just some of the questions posed by Arkady Vaksberg. The answers will be provided through previously unpublished testimony by the participants and eyewitnesses of the events, and materials from family archives and writer's own memoirs.
