Michael Cherney Foundation in Support of Palestinian
The Michael Cherney Foundation is supporting Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) - an organization doing an extraordinary effort in bringing home the truth about the Middle East conflict.
Far too many people, lacking knowledge of Arabic, prefer to view Palestinian Authority through the rose-tinted glasses of their press releases, written by the PA's numerous loyalists in the UN and elsewhere with an eye to being quoted in the sympathetic Western media. It takes an independent-minded and a truth-dedicated organization like PMW to lay bare the myths propagated by the PA.

This is the latest example of how the Palestinian population is being brainwashed in the radical Islamic ways reported by PMW: a poll of high-school students reported by the Palestinian daily Al-Ayyam revealed that 73 per cent of the students feeling that women should be limited to "traditional occupations" and 23 per cent reject a woman's right to chose a husband "freely." Attitudes to minorities are also discriminatory. Sixty per cent of the students polled are unwilling to have a friend from a different religion, while 24 per cent do not want a friend with a different skin color. The poll was conducted by the ALPHA Institute for Research and Statistics, and was distributed by the Center for Women's Affairs in Gaza.
PMW also carries a number of video clips taken straight from the source - Palestinian TV children programs - to make your hair stand on end. Time after time, Palestinian teachers exhort their students that "Martyrdom is the greatest happiness" and "Jews are not human" - and so does their Great Leader Chairman Arafat.
And did you know that National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice is regularly described in official Palestinian daily as "dark" and "colored", while the GI who went up to put up the American flag on the Saddam statue in Baghdad was ridiculed for his oriental features? "He has the same idea as Genghis Khan… The main target of the Mongols was Mecca in order to exterminate the Islamic religion…." (Al-Hayat Al-Jadida April 10, 2003). This is the kind of people we're dealing with here…
You don't need to be a cynic to suggest that the poll or the hate language above will never grace the pages of the New York Times or The Guardian or Le Monde, just as it is futile to expect BBC or CNN to ever air the contents of these TV programs. If one goes by the Western media, once the Israeli imperialists leave, Democratic Republic of Palestine will be a haven of peace, love, and prosperity. Think Iran, ladies and gentlemen. Think Saudi. Think Syria. Today Hizbollah rockets reach Israeli kibbutzim; tomorrow, in the name of Allah, they will be hitting the Western Wall.
Palestinian Media Watch is doing work of paramount importance to anybody who cares about Israel and peace - above all, the truth. And we're proud to be associated with them.
