From the beginning of Al-Aqsa Intifada on September 27, 2000 through April 2004, Palestinian terrorists killed 88 Israeli children under 16 years of age and maimed/wounded 809. The pictures and bio data of all 88 fatalities and other terrible statistics are cited in a collection “Target: Israeli Children”, co-published by Michael Cherney Foundation and Israel ’s Ministry of Education.
The book’s opening chapter describes the propaganda of anti-Semitism and hatred in official Palestinian media, as well as their textbooks and other school materials. It was this Nazi-like propaganda that generated the phenomenon of a shaheed: hundreds of Palestinian teenagers who dream of becoming suicide bombers.
The book concludes with a brief description of the programs sponsored by Israel ’s Ministry of Education, designated to treat the psychological traumas suffered by Israeli children and caused by the deaths of their classmates and continuing bombings.
