The Jerusalem boxing club exists since 1981, and through out that time has seen over 2000 graduates.
The boxers of this club are some of the strongest competitors. They are champions of Jerusalem, Israel and some of the international competitions. 2 girls-Lena Kaplan and Nella Selimov are silver medalists of Israel. Shlomo Niazov-participant of the Olympic Games in Mexico and Aharon Yakubashvili-participant of the Olympic Games in Seoul-started out in this club.
In the years 2003-04 the strongest competitors took part in World Competitions.
MCF provided a grant to the club to start a new program for olim youth from high-risk areas. The idea behind it is to remove them from the streets and with intense boxing training return them to the path of normality. Training raises self appreciation and self confidence, which in return will help that very same youth to join the army and continue with studies in the future. For more information: www.luxboxing.org
